Atlanta-based NeboWeb Teams Up with CDC and ALA to Win Prestigious Web Design Award

ATLANTA (October 6, 2009) – The Web Marketing Association has presented its 2009 Non-Profit Standard of Excellence Award to NeboWeb, an award winning web design company, in recognition of NeboWeb’s outstanding achievement in website development for the Not On Tobacco (N-O-T) website. The N-O-T site was created through a collaboration of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Prevention Research Centers Program at West Virginia University and the American Lung Association, and is a voluntary program that helps teens to stop smoking, live healthier lives, and improve life management skills.

"Nearly every family has been impacted by smoking-related illness in some capacity, including my own, and I’m proud that NeboWeb was able to be a part of this project."
The new site is engaging, extremely easy to use, and incorporates intuitive navigation. It also serves as a tool to help recruit facilitators, sign up users for training, and promote the N-O-T program to communities. The website includes an AJAX-based content management system and a full featured facilitator’s extranet.
"Ten years since its inception, Not On Tobacco is the most widely used and most widely available teen cessation program in the country," says Charles Connor, American Lung Association President and CEO. “The NOT website appeals to teens and helps them through the difficult process of becoming tobacco free. This important tool is playing a critical role in freeing America from the deadly and costly burden of tobacco.”
Since 1997, the Web Marketing Association (www.webaward.org) has honored the best Internet marketing and Web development in 96 industries from nominated sites in 33 countries. Now in its 13th year, the WebAward Competition has become the premier award event for Web developers and marketers worldwide. The Not On Tobacco site was evaluated by a panel of expert judges based on Design, Innovation, Content, Technology, Interactivity, Copywriting, and Ease of Use. In selecting award winners, judges assumed the role of the target audience and scored the sites based on their experiences. Judges included members of the media, advertising executives, site designers, content providers, and webmasters.
